After attending meetings for a few weeks, members will make their promise as part of an investiture ceremony.
Below you will find the promises for each section, these are worded to no particular faith and we will normally use these for investments, there are alternative versions of the promise available for members of faith. These can be found here, please discuss with your section leader which promise you would like to say at investiture.
Scouting is fully committed as a movement to exploring faith and religion as a core element of its programme.
If you would like your child to make a specific promise, please discuss it with the leader.
I promise to do my best,
To be kind and helpful,
And to love our world.
I promise that I will do my best,
to uphold our Scout values, to do my duty to The King,
to help other people
and to keep the Cub Scout Law.
On my honour,
I promise that I will do my best
to uphold our Scout values, to do my duty to The King,
to help other people
and to keep the Scout Law.
There is no formal Beaver or Squirrel Scout Law. The concepts expressed in the Scout Law are to be presented to Squirrel and Beaver Scouts through games, storytelling and other informal activities.
